1 egg, separated, egg white beaten
175 g milk
2 TB vegetable oil
70 g flour
15 g vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of baking powder
8 thick slices of apple, peeled & cored
cinnamon sugar
Mix milk with egg yolk and oil. Add the dry ingredients, stir well. Let rest for about 15 minutes, then fold in the beaten egg white. Put apple slices into the molds of a greased savarin muffin sheet or bundt cake muffin sheet (you also can use a plain muffin sheet, if you don't mind to get apple cakes without a hole in the center). Pour the batter over the apples. Bake in preheated oven at 200 deg C for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and serve with vanilla sauce.
